Diablo 3 Mini-Review

Is the experience I had for four hours.  So I went into the options and switched my server to the European ones and played that way for a while.  Soooooooo, once you actually get to play the game it is fuckin’ awesome okay?  Just awesome.

Hit the jump for my first impressions.

I’m playing a female monk and LOVING IT.

Diablo 3 is super fun.  Period.  The powers look and feel great as a monk, every punch has a meaty feel to it and the animations vary enough that the attacks never feel stale.  There’s always a new enemy, upgrade, technique, weapon, or piece of armor to find.

The game looks and feels awesome. I only have 1 gig of RAM and it still runs as smooth as butter. For looking as good as it does it isn’t very demanding on your computer.

The dungeons are sweet and after playing for about 4 – 6 hours I haven’t finished Act 1 which I hope is a sign that the game will have a nice length to it.  There are plenty of NPC’s to talk to and enough story to keep you interested.

And like all proper monk players I eagerly await getting my Seven Sided Strike technique. It looks epic.

I played with a friend and we encountered very little slowdown, although when we first entered a new area we had a bit for the first 5 – 10 seconds as the area fully loaded.  Best thing about playing with a friend is each player gets their own gold and loot so you don’t have to fight with your friend over things.

All in all I am hyped to play more!  Check it out and hopefully Blizzard gets all these launch hiccups taken care of, because they suck lol.  Maybe in a week or two I will put out a full in-depth review, but until then have a good day!
