Aaaahhhhhhhh yes . . . . the turkey, the fixings, the holiday trimmings, the trees, lights, friendship, family and movies. Yes, the movies. As movie geeks well know, the bookend to the summer blockbuster is the holiday film extravaganza. It is a veritable contest of , “How fancy can I make this movie just before the Oscar annual cut off?”
Bless their hearts. And this year, we have so much to look forward to, truly there will be something for everyone. And I intend on seeing them all. Like a popcorn snacking boss. Here are my lovelies (or precious. Whatever):
1. The Hobbit, An Unexpected Journey.
Hobbitses. For realsies. This has me so damn happy.
2. Les Miserables
Seriously, Anne Hathaway as Fantine. She went crazy for this role, no joke, I read it in Vanity Fair. Plus, none of the singing is canned. They all sing, on set, in film. Hugh Jackman and Helena Bonham Carter, I pray thee, be glorious.
3. Django Unchained
Tarrantino, what? Yes. Seriously, Jaime Foxx looks awesome in this.We all know he’s got some acting chops, but now it’s Chops^2.
These are my top reasons why my date fund may be entirely devoted to going to the movies. I’m super excited, anxious and freaking out a little.
It can’t be helped.
