It is a depressing thing to emerge from your cocoon of blankets and see that Jerry Robinson has died.
For those of you not in the know, Jerry Robinson is credited with creating the most well known villain of all time: the Joker. That was only one of his achievements. Before FINALLY being inducted in the Comic Book Hall of Fame in 2004, he struggled for things like creator’s rights so people like Jerry Siegel and Joe Schuster would be recognized for their creation of Superman.
I ask you all to read your favorite Joker tale today, to watch your favorite movie involving the Joker (your choice on whether it’s Nicholson or Ledger, or hey, maybe you want to watch the Man Who Laughs starring Conrad Veigt!), or even pass a thought of condolences to his family in honor of Mr. Robinson. I’m saddened I hadn’t had the opportunity to meet such a man.
Rest In Peace.
RIP, that man is responsible for my favorite villain of all time.
This is very sad news. The Joker is one of the most intriguing yet frightening villains I have ever encountered. Without Mr. Robinson’s creation, Gotham would not have been the same. My condolences to his friends and family.
