Weekend Fun For Gamers

It’s springtime and we have the best way to kick it off! Check out the events that are happening this weekend

The MLG Pro Circuit Winter Championships make their debut  in Columbus, Ohio, and with the addition of some new games on the Pro Circuit, one can expect a new level of competition! Joining StarCraft II and Halo: Reach in Columbus will be Mortal Kombat, King of Fighters XIII and Soulcalibur V. Tune in all weekend long to catch the action of some top players such as Justin Wong, a champion on Street Fighter, and Kelly “Mrs Violence” Kelly, who is one of, if not THE, top female gamer for the FPS genre.

Next up we have the NorCal Regionals.

One of  the longest running fighting game tournament series in California is back! NorCal Regionals 10 currently holds the honor of being the FIRST major event for Street Fighter x Tekken so gamers prepare to see some heavy hitters this weekend. Players can expect to see Alex Valle there, the president of the Level Up Series, but will he be competing as well? The other games in the line-up include Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition 2012, Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3, Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown, and more. Could we possibly see some BlazBlue: Extend? One can only hope!

And finally, we have our friends overseas hosting Hypespotting.

Who will be the Scottish Champion? Versus Scotland steps up their game with  a national fighting game tournament of their own, taking place in Glasgow. With a cash pot and prizes donated from HORI, Hypespotting will have tournaments for Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition 2012, Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3, King of Fighters XIII, Virtua Fighter 5 and Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike.
