The future is finally here! We all saw it in Back to the Future, and dreamed about owning it. I’m not talking about the flying cars, or even the hover boards. No, this is so much better. Remember those shoes, the Nike MAG’s? Yeah, they’re real now. No longer “The greatest shoes never made”, the Nike MAG has been released in limited supply by Nike for all our geeky pleasure. That’s right, you can own Marty McFly’s shoes! How freaking awesome is that! One problem — they’re super expensive!
In one of history’s most awesome humanitarian efforts, all earnings will be going to fund The Michael Jay Fox foundation to help find a cure for Parkinson’s! The first pair was auctioned off in L.A. on September 8th, where the winning bidder dropped a whopping $37,500!!! Apparently they threw in a plutonium case, and puppy to sweeten the deal. As for the rest, Nike will only be selling 150 shoes per day, and they can only be purchased from eBay in an open auction. With an opening bid of $.99, these things have already shot up well beyond $3,000! Worth it? Hell yeah, why not? Sure it’s an early model, and we’ll probably have to wait till 2015 for the power lacing. They do light up though, featuring an electroluminescent outsole, space-age materials and a rechargeable internal battery good for up to four hours! Plus, you’re donating to an amazing cause! So if you want to swagger around town, showing off your Nike MAG’s and feel good about yourself, dude you know what to do.
I want a pair, I mean look at them they’re freaking awesome! Of course, I don’t have the money, but I did manage to place a bid or two…which was quickly outbid. “You are looking at the rarest of Nike Footwear. For 22 years they have existed only in the year 2015 on Marty McFly’s feet. Today they are finally a reality.” A dream for most of us, but hey at least they’re real now! Check out the new commercial for these shoes bellow, you may notice a few familiar faces!
