Okay, so it’s the second day of my week long Buffy challenge and it’s been a grueling 20 hours. I have watched all of season one and all of season two and there are some goodies tucked away in there! I figure I’ll do one of these little posts, pick my fave episode out of each season, some highlights, and let you know about my general well being. I am fast forwarding the opening sequences which adds up marvelously. I have not slept at ALL last night in order to complete season 2. Let us begin the breakdown.
2 seasons
34 episodes
The most time I’ve watched straight: 12 hours (with potty breaks)
Season one definitely seems to be Angel-centric and deals with Buffy’s relationship with him before culminating in her “death” at the hands of the Master. I love seeing Willow and Xander at this stage because it’s fun to see where they end up since they’re so innocent and easy to relate to. Cordy is the best bitch to be seen on screen in a looong time and I thoroughly enjoy watching Giles strut his sexy British ass on the screen. My favorite episode of season one has to be, hands down, “The Pack.” Xander shines in this episode as he falls under the spell of the Hyena House.
Season two seems to take a turn and focus more on Xander as Angel reverts to Angelus after a night of lovin’ with Buffy. We also get to know Oz a little better and explore the relationship between Jenny Calendar and Giles this season. I always cry at Calendar’s death in the latter part of the season and at the teary embrace between Angel and Buffy during the last episode. I also felt immense frustration at the lack of proper communication between Xander and Willow (it’s like come on, already) and sadness for lonely Giles. My favorite episode of season two has to be “Go Fish.” Xander in a speedo and Buffy’s ladybits offered to fishy members of the swim team? Yes, please!
I am utterly exhausted at this point so I’ll grab 3-5 hours of sleep and then awake to continue forward! If you’d like, you can follow me as I tweet as I watch (@ladyvader99) or if you’d like and have an xbox/netflix, you can even netflix party an episode with me (again, ladyvader99)!
It’s amazing what dark clothing and brushing your hair back can do for one’s coolness levels.(on xander’s look in “the pack”)
lol, no lie. i think that also “worked” in spider-man 3.
