Dicks
Story by Garth Ennis and Art by John McCrea
Right away, I noticed the silly trouser snake cover (I’m perverted, what else can I say?) and picked up the comic. We’re quickly introduced to a pair of silly men: Ivor, a squat gent wanting to poop really bad, and his companion, a sprightly thin man named Dougie. Dougie is getting married soon, to a woman he’s apparently knocked up and when they meet up with Ivor’s Uncle Shuggie, he nonchalantly suggests killing her amidst asking the pair to watch his pet snake, Eve. They stop for a drink at a local bar, losing Eve in the process. Eve quickly shows up in the pants of the biggest lout there, a man named Big Billy. Of course, under the care of the guys, Eve quickly meets her end and they return to Uncle Shuggie to tell him the news, which kills him. While they’re recovering from that shock, a mob boss comes in and expects the pair to fulfill a business deal he made with Uncle Shuggie and Ivor and Dougie exchange looks as they are about to begin Dougie’s bachelorette party. Ivor laces Dougie’s last drink with some unknown chemical that’ll give him the biggest shit of his life (two days into his honeymoon) and Dougie is none the wiser. Ivor also manages one hell of a best man speech that leaves the entire reception covered in fart dust. While Dougie is on his honeymoon, pooping his brains out, Ivor moves into Uncle Shuggie’s now empty house, and agrees to work with the mob boss. The comic ends with Dougie confronting Ivor about the laxative and both getting their ass beat by Big Billy.
The art was okay. Sloppy for sure, but it added to the already sloppy nature of the comic (not a good thing). John McCrea is definitely not going to be a favorite of mine any time soon with his lumpy characters and ridiculous face wrinkles on his characters. Ennis has DEFINITELY written better and I feel like this comic is something he did while wasted out of his mind. It’s obnoxious and only made me lift my lips in a smile one time and it was more because my husband said something funny in the background.
Leave this shit on the shelf.

Do you think it’d still be bad to a slightly immature man? This sounds like the kind of childish toilet humour my Mr would like.
i love potty humor and one can’t say i’m super mature either. this just wasn’t really funny. it might do better with guys so try it if he likes that kinda thing :)
