So if you haven’t watched the original The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, do yourself a big favor by getting the hell on Netflix and watching it. If you don’t have Netflix, I hear there are these ancient caves that have physical copies of movies on their walls. I know, right? Absurd.
Anyways, as always, America is remaking the film so that we can say “Naner, naner, boo boo, we did it too”. And normally, I hate unnecessary American Remakes. But this one is being directed by David Fincher (ya know, Fight Club, The Social Network) and the music is being done by Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross (they also did the score for The Social Network, which was pretty awesome. And Reznor is also pretty well-known as the man who is Nine Inch Nails), so I am actually pretty interested. The cinematography looks interesting, and it seems this might be more than just a shot-for-shot remake.

Im ridiculously excited for this movie. ridiculously. i love the millennium series, i love the the noomi rspace movies, i love daniel craig and david fincher, and lisbeth salander is my hero.
Hell yes, gotta love Lisbeth. And Daniel Craig is a bit cooler than the original role, but he was great in Defiance so I expect good things.
What was wrong with the first one? I found it interesting and thrilling and a complete bastardization of the book as movies are. Sorry reading was involved, but that is no reason to remake the film.
I agree with you and I’ve grown tired of America remaking every film within a few years, but the reality is that America is going to continue doing so. I we’re gonna remake it, we might as well attempt to do so tastefully and I think this remake might just do it.
