Just now the fine folks from the Hunger Games officially dropped the teaser trailer for their last film in the franchise, Mockingjay Part II. The film, which will be released in the United States November 20th, will bring to a close the exploits of Katniss Everdeen and her District 13 crew marching on the Capitol to deal some final justice to Panem’s President Snow and pretty much anyone else that tries to stop her.
Given the huge success of the first three films in the series (Hunger Games, Catching Fire, and Mockingjay Part I) and what’s presented in this teaser it’s a safe bet that the clamor for the last installment of this series is going to be just as big if not bigger. Let’s watch and break it down (IT’S SPOILER FREE, NO WORRIES KIDS):
Katniss gives Peeta a big hug (A relief after the way Mockingjay Part I ended)
Finnick and Annie tie the knot accompanied by shining happy Katniss and Prim (aww yay)
President Snow maintaining villain baller status (because Donald Sutherland is a boss)
Capitol defense systems reminiscent of the obstacles in the games (and the black oil from the X-Files)
Effie and her flamboyant allure (because she fly as hell)
Haymitch being a bro (because that’s what bros do)
Queen Margaery and Brienne of Tarth Natalie Dormer and Gwendolyn Christie (Valar morghulis, son)
Pretty good list, right? Oh right, one more thing – I hear this one’s in 3D.
