Story line? Pfft, let’s get to the juicy stuff, like Multi-player. 11-8-11 is the only date you need to know! Here are some of the updates for MW3:
Killstreaks have now been replaced with pointstreaks. Essentially they are one and the same; the only difference being one can collect these points by capturing the flag, planting a bomb, and even with an assist. Pointstreaks rewards are broken down into three different “strike packages” called Assault, Support, and Specialist. The Assault strike package performs the same as the killstreak reward system granting rewards like the predator and helicopters. The Support strike package is tailored for support-style players with rewards such as UAVs and SAM turrets. Rewards from the Support strike package also stack throughout the match and do not reset if one dies. The Specialist strike package provides players with perks of their choice after every 2nd consecutive kill. Once a player reaches eight kills, they will receive every perk in the game, but will reset back to zero if the player dies. Players are allowed to choose which pointstreak rewards they want to use when they gain it during the match, instead of picking them between rounds.
New game modes have also been added. “Kill Confirmed” requires players to collect dog tags from the corpse of a downed enemy for the kill to be confirmed. On the flip side, the opposing enemies can pick up the dog tag as well to “cock block” the other team of confirming their kill. In “Team Defender”, both teams must try to capture a flag in the center of the map and hold it to gain points. Private matches have game modes as well, such as “Infection” , where the infected kills enemies to recruit them to their team. “Drop Zone” requires players to hold a drop zone for points and care packages. “Gun Game” and “One in the Chamber” are modes that are making a return.
Finally, we have the completely revamped ranking and unlock system. Now there is no more currency system for the unlocks, which I consider a good thing. Player’s can now level up their favorite weapon(s) and unlock a number of “Proficiency” perks such as “Kick”, which reduces recoil while ADS (aiming down sight). There is a restriction to one Proficiency put on per weapon. Now, here is something exciting! Players can now have two different scopes that they can toggle between. For example, one can have a ACOG scope and a Red Dot. MW3 will have a “Prestige Shop” which is unlocked when you prestige the first time and the shop will allow players to use “Prestige Tokens” they gain from using the prestige option to buy features such as double XP or an extra custom class.
I have my copy reserved, do you?
i’m practically salivating. should be fun!!
1 copy or 2….. :)
just one! i can play when you don’t play
The support package sounds good for me. I couldn’t get much into Modern Warfare 1 & 2’s multiplayer because I’m not as good as everybody else, so I play assist, but there was never any benefit to playing assist.
I might give this a rental and see how I fair this time around.
do it !!!! picking up my copy tonight! u should have gamefly overnight it!
