From “The World According to Brittzkrieg.” I’m in a pretty darn good mood, given some recent happenings. Let me tell you, dear readers, only the classiest of ladies get engaged in a Star Wars T-shirt.
Every person has their list of movies, top movie, favorite movie for when they want to be nerdy and feel like a romance connoisseur. I am no different. I have my favorite story lines, my favorite set-ups, my favorite one liners. And I would like to share them with you. Live long and prosper, lovelies.
1. The Princess Bride. Must I say anymore? “As you wish,” for all intensive purposes may be the most romantic responses to the query of the heart. Heck yes. I’m Team Buttercup and Wesley.
2. Star Wars. First three.”I love you.” “I know.” Both Times. Always Awesome. Best confused, snarky relationship. The love, the rescues, the carbonite, the galaxy (long ago and far away).Lest I not forgot, “Someone who loves you.”
3. Harry Potter. All of them. “After all this time?” “Always.” ‘Scuse me whilst I wipe my nerdy little eyes folks. Spoiler: Snape is really the shiz, in disguise as heartless. He just has too much heart. And is awesome. Best character save. That combined with Ron and Hermione and really, Dumbledore and everyone, these are some of the best heart moving story arcs.
4. Up. Just a few minutes of silence and an entire theater erupts in happy/sad/full emotion range tears for Carl and Ellie. Every time. All the people. All the tears.
5. Pride and Prejudice. “You must allow me to tell you how ardently I admire and love you.” Admittedly, this first foray into the love relationship between Darcy and Liz did not fare to well. But, hey, once you save someone’s sister from horrid, HORRID! scandal then all should be good. Because really, once you are a rich man in your twenties or whatever, you really just want a wife. Obviously.
I think i love love love the keira knightly pride and prejudice better but good choices all
not gonna lie and say my eyes didn’t well up a little reading some of these quotes but i’m such a sap!
crazy but true, I watched The Princess Bride last nite while going to bed. And, I LOVE the image you got for it. also this line- “Mawage. Mawage is wot bwings us togeder tooday. Mawage, that bwessed awangment, that dweam wifin a dweam… ” was on the back of my wedding invitations. I cant say enough good things about that movie.. oh, except.. “Anybody want a peanut?”
I still love that “Empire Strikes Back” scene.
Did you have to mention “Up”? Excuse me while I go cry my eyes out.
I still haven’t seen up…
