This week, as part of Boom Studios line-up, readers will have a chance to once again join one of the greatest teams to ever grace the page! The Avengers are back! No, not the Marvel Super-Hero team. The real deal,  created back in the 60’s via British Broadcasting, and continued on through novels, movies, stage-plays, radio dramas, and even comics! Acclaimed writer Grant Morrison brings about a new story following the ever dapper John Steed, and his most trusted partner Emma Peel, as they try to solve the sudden disappearance of Tara King, and the murder of a very nautical fellow! The Avengers has just the right amount of odd, and bizarre to satisfy Morrison’s writing style, making this pairing something that was destined to happen eventually. I’ve criticized his work in the past, but to be honest I have to say this is exactly the type of story he should be working! Ian Gibson’s art compliments Morrisons someone eccentric style, as the two really bring this old series back to life! One issue in, and already I’m hooked. An amazing feat for any writer, especially considering this not favorite genre of comic.
