It’s officially the day that the most anticipated trailer of the year will drop.
In it’s first appearance preceding Sherlock Holmes: Game of Shadows, The Dark Knight Rises has most likely made movie goers forget what they paid half of their paycheck to go see in the first place. Who wants to watch Robert Downey Jr. charismatically bumble his way through a mystery now? We want Batman!
Was there ever a person who asked where the story would continue on now that Heath Ledger had passed and his villain Joker could never be topped? I think those voices might be silenced for a bit. The “epic conclusion” is nothing short and does not disappoint. From it’s ominous opening to Bane’s decimation of the football field, The Dark Knight Rises looks like it can give us the grand finale this trilogy has been waiting for. Christian Bale is seen mostly as Bruce rather than our caped crusader, and Anne Hathaway looks absolutely brilliant as a more realistic Selina Kyle, though no glimpses of her Catwoman suit as of yet – most likely due to the fact that we’ve seen so much of them over the last few months. Gary Oldman, Michael Caine and Joseph Gordon-Levitt get just mere seconds of screen time, but manages to leave us salivating for more.
The Dark Knight Rises will hit theaters on July 20, 2012. Watch the embedded trailer quick before it’s taken down!
Cool !
Can’t wait to see MAX in the stadium!
I am getting a spider-man 3 vibe. I respect that Nolans trying to reimagine the characters but its clear that there isn’t a lot of anything of catwoman from the comics, and less of Bane. Bane is on face kind of a ludicrous character( a Mexican wrestler as a supervillan) but when done well he has a certain interesting panache as macho genius. Here i am just getting more of the fake al queda stuff from the first movie(though i do respect that he wears a jacket)
I am also not getting a more realistic catwoman vibe at all here. though i supose international superspy is kind of realistic. In the comics especially in the eighties and ninties Catwoman could be kind of realistic as a batman without a bank account kind of prosititute. Its comicbook realism but it felt real.
Which i guess was kind of my complaint from the first movie forward with the nolan stuff. There is a kind of bourne identity realism here, but at the same time all of the characters feel at that level especially the villans. They never let batman actual fight crime, or have a dude with a gun be much of any threat to him. Its the kind of realism that’s actually not that realistic at all.
Personally I thought the first one had a couple of fun sequences, the second one was a little packed but heath ledger really did deserve an Oscar, however i am not sure about this one.
Following, Memento, Insomnia, Batman Begins, The Prestige, The Dark Knight, Inception, and now another amazing looking movie. Christopher Nolan is too good *swoons and faints*
i’m all around iffy about the movie. catwoman better have some fucking cats.
