A sequel? Yes, sir! The first one was release way back in October 2000. Now 11 years later, Namco has a lot to offer to the series. The game is scheduled for release later on this year in Japan but all other regions are still TBA.
The game revolves around a “Tag” system versus the traditional 1-on-1 battles. Some of the new added techniques are combined tag throws, along with tag combos, which include both team members being on screen. Tekken Tag 2 is also incorporating some of the styles found in Tekken 6, like “Bound” hits and character customization. These items include weapons one can actually use and a “Hammer Head” hat.
All of the characters have been remodeled in order to express facial emotions more realistically. The first Tekken Tag had no true storyline; it simply gave gamers an opportunity to make custom teams and challenge other opponents. Will the sequel be any different? Guess we will have to wait. Although the character list may be tentative, so far it does appear that every character from Tekken 6 will be included. The stages will also have multiple levels. Players will be able to knock their opponents into different sections and continue the combos for added damage. Now we play the waiting game!
